Group Study Room Policy
The Earl K. Long Library has 2 reserved group study rooms for currently enrolled students, faculty and staff. Additional study rooms, single and group, can be found on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. Please ask for assistance at the Public Services Desk in locating these rooms. Reserved Group Study Rooms have: table, chairs, whiteboard with markers and erasers, and wireless internet access.
- Rooms 112 and 113 are to be reserved for the use of group study, projects, or related work
- A group is considered to be 2 or more students (rooms seat 6 comfortably)
- Reservations can be made up to one week in advance online at circdesk@uno.edu
- Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- Rooms can be reserved for up to 4 hours, no renewals although users can remain in room if no one else has a reservation
- Must check in up to 30 minutes before or 15 minutes after the reservation or it will be cancelled
- Group study room users without reservations must vacate the room when requested by a group with a reservation
- Individuals may not reserve study rooms but may use the room if not reserved or needed by a group
- If reservations are made by individuals, or the group does not arrive, the reservation will be cancelled, and individuals may be asked to leave the room.
- The library cannot guarantee that a room is available at the requested time. Library staff will attempt to accomodate groups as much as possible, but there are no guarantees.
Other General Info:
- Group study room is not available for classes
- Library is not responsible for items left unattended in rooms
- Any library items (books, DVDs, tapes etc.) left in the room will be removed and returned to the library (and removed from the individual's library record)
- Library does not rent/loan media equipment, if such is needed, users can use equipment in the Multimedia Room located in Rm.320 on the third floor
- If you are unable to keep your reservation or will be late, please call 504-280-6355 and if possible accommodations will be made
- Food and drink in appropriate containers are allowed in the rooms
- Keep noise levels down as not to disturb others
- Additional study rooms are available on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. They are:
- 1st Floor-Room 114 (has same accommodations as Rooms 112 and 113)
- 2nd Floor-Rooms 41, 42, 44, 45, 46, 65 (same accommodations as others minus whiteboards)
- 3rd Floor -Rooms 69 and 76 (same accommodations as others minus whiteboards)
